2007 Hogshead Chardonnay
Simply put, this is the best Chardonnay I’ve made. The 2007 vintage leant itself to making a leaner, racier, more intense style and that’s exactly what we did with this wine.
The vineyard turned 30 in 2008, and while it has always been a stand-out vineyard it has really hit its straps in recent times.
This wine is pure, intense, minerally. It has a nose of tinned pineapples and roast nuts courtesy of 70% of the wine being fermented and then aged in brand new French oak hogsheads.
