The Straw wines here at Piggs Peake are designed to be a bit more approachable, lighter and softer. So it’s only 15%................

This wine has been blended up out of Mudgee Shiraz (75%) and Lucknow Shiraz (25%). Mudgee provided the body of the wine, while the 930m high Shiraz vineyard at Lucknow gave some wonderful lift to the nose.

The addition of 2% Viognier pre-bottling (don’t question my maths) silkened up the tannin structure and made the wine very seductive.
