2007 Suckling Pig Zinfandel (Sold out)
Motes, that’s right, a red dessert wine.
This wine was the product of a disagreement with another winemaker about whether or not such a thing was possible. I won the bet.
A small vineyard out at Orange named Cargo Road was selected to produce the fruit. The Zinfandel grapes were left on the vine into May until a large percentage of them had raisened up. After crushing the sugars continue to leech into the juice making it sweeter and sweeter.
The yeast that we use can not cope with such sweet juice and much of the sugar is left behind to give a truly luscious full bodied red.
Brilliant with chocolate.
