The 2008 was based on the Mudgee Ridge Shiraz vineyard, which is strangely enough in Mudgee.

The vineyard is on the road to Lithgow and due to the way the land rises the area enjoys an earlier ripening than most of Mudgee and rocky soils that freely drain.

This savoury wine was enriched by the addition of some Mclaren Vale Shiraz. A small Viognier addition further lifted the fruit and softened off the wine.
