2008 Super Tusker Sangiovese
Sangiovese is the number one grape of Italy and gee those guys polish off some wine.
The Mudgee Ridge Vineyards produce Sangiovese in soils that can be best described as rock. These poor tortured vines then produce smaller berries which give us better colour and flavour. Fermenting the wine with a small amount of shiraz present adds weight to the wine and a bit of colour. This is only a light bodied wine, but with lovely flavours. Get into it young with suckling pig or duck.
