2009 House of Bricks Cabernet
A wine that needs no introduction. I keep saying Piggs Peake does not have a speciality. A specialist is someone who is crap at everything they do but one thing. For a winemaker, that’s not good. Having said that, when I think of the number of times other winemakers have gone through our range and end up nursing a glass of Bricks Cabernet... well, there must be something in that. This wine is off the famous Cargo Road vineyards in Orange, home of James Sweetapple. James has been clinging to the top of his mountain out there for over a decade cranking great grapes out of his great vineyard. The wines are big, but still balanced. Forest berries dominate the nose, mixed in with vanilla and chocolate. The palate is mouthfilling with dusty tannins. It will age well over many years.
WARNING: Our Cabernet Vineyard at Cargo Road in 2010 was smashed by a storm and we failed to get any material of quality. Sadly, there will be no 2010 House of Bricks Cabernet. Stock up now to get you through to the 2011 (mother nature permitting).
