2009 House of Sticks Shiraz
This is not a shy wine. Its big, its black and its rich. Most of the fruit in this blend comes from Orange, but a spoonful of McLaren Vale Shiraz fell in too. Interestingly, the colour was from the Orange component. Pencil shaving like American oak aromas sit in nicely with mulberries, while the palate is firm. A small viognier addition takes the edge off the wine. This wine will hang around for quite a while I suspect.
