The Boss Hogg

Every year in the months preceding and throughout vintage Steve will travel hundreds of kilometres to closely monitor a selection of premium vineyards situated in the Hunter Valley, Orange, McLaren Vale and Mudgee.

He inspects the vineyards and tastes the grapes at different stages of ripeness in order to ensure that they are harvested when the optimum flavour and acid balance is reached.

When Steve is not in the vineyards he can be found in the winery checking ferments, assessing wines in barrel, evaluating wines being matured or experimenting with new wine and oak combinations.

February and March are especially busy with vintage underway so you can call in and see first hand how our wines are made.
